Tablighi Jamaat became famous after the increase in the number of cases of coronavirus. People started knowing about what was the religious gathering Tablighi Jamaat. Tablighi Jamaat is a religious gathering of the Sunni Muslims. It is a society for spreading the faith in Islam. It is a conservative organization. It is an organization to reach out to ordinary Muslims and revive the faith particularly in matters of ritual, dress and personal behavior.
WHEN DID IT BEGUN:
It was founded by Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Khandhalaw in 1926 in Mewat (Haryana). Moulana Iliyas trained several young Muslims and built many mosques and madrasas. He mainly made the Muslim community build faith in the Islamic religion, their way fo living, and behavior.
Tablighi Jamaat mainly teaches 6 principals:
- Kalimah: It teaches that there is no God except Allah and Mohammed Prophet is the messenger of Allah.
- Salat: Which teaches to pray daily for 5 times.
- Ilm and Dhikr: he knowledge and remembrance of Allah conducted in sessions in which the congregation listens to preaching by the imam, performs prayers, recites the Quran and reads the Hadith; the congregation also uses these sessions to dine together, thus fostering a sense of community and identity.
- Ikram-i-Muslim: the treatment of fellow Muslims with honor.
- Ikhlas-i-niyat: or sincerity of intention.
- Dawat-o-tabligh: or proselytization.
The organization has something around 70-80 lakh disciplined followers who mainly works to teach Islamic principles to the youngers through madrasas and mosques. It teaches children disciplined and faith towards Allah.
It is a gathering that usually happens every year and the government itself gives them permission to organize the meeting. But, this corona outbreak is mainly because of the people who came from other countries especially from Indonesia. One should understand that the people who attended the event do not know the intensity of Coronavirus as we do on March 13th. This was the main reason for the negligence. But, what we should be concerned about is people who attended the event should visit the nearby hospitals and get checked up voluntarily and help the government.
