It’s almost 70 years, Issue of Ayodhya hasn’t been solved yet.one of the main reason behind this is Indian Judiciary Motto. As far as I concerned this issue has become one of the hot topics in the whole country. Let’s know how it all started in this article.

the first case was filed in 1885, became a land title suit is awaiting the final word from India’s Supreme Court, which is expected to give its verdict in the Ram Temple-Babri Masjid (mosque) dispute in Ayodhya very soon. Following it is a complete timeline of the Ayodhya dispute.

1528: Babri masjid was built by Mughal King Babur.

1949: Idols of lord ram put under the central dome of outside the disputed area.

1950: cade filed in local district court to worship lord ram.

1959: Nirmohi files suit, seeks possession of the site.

1981: Sunni board files suit seeking the site’s possession.

1986 Feb: local court orders govt to open site for Hindus.

Aug 1989: Allahabad HC orders status quo(యథాతథ స్థితి) with respect to the disputed site

Dec 1996: Babri Masjid demolished.

Apr 1993: Acquisition of certain area at Ayodhya act passed for acquiring land by the centre.

Apr 2002: Hearing in HC begins

Sept 2010: HC rules 3-way division of disputed area between Sunni board, Nirmohi Akhara & Ram Lalla

May 2011: Supreme court stays Allahabad HC verdict on Ayodhya dispute

Mar 2017: SC suggests out of court settlement among rival parties.

Aug 2017: 3 judge Bench to hear pleas challenging 1994 verdict.

Feb 2018: SC hears civil appeals.

July 2018: verdict reserved.

Sept 2018: SC refuses to refer the case to a 5 judge constitution bench.

Oct 2018: SC fixed the case for the 1st week of Jan 2019.

Dec 2018: SC decides to take up petitions for hearing on Jan 2019.

4th Jan 2019: “Order on Jan by an apt bench”-Supreme court

8th Jan 2019:5 judge bench headed by Rajan Gogoi to hear the case.

29 Jan 2019: Centre moves SC seeking permission to return the 67 acres acquired land around the disputed site to original owners.

Feb 2019: SC favour mediation

Apr 2019: Nirmohi Opposes Centre’s plea(Returning the land) in SC.

9th May 2019: Interim report submitted in SC by 3 member mediation committee

10th May 2019: SC grants extension to Aug 15th for the mediation process.

July 2019: SC seeks an outcome report by Aug 1st.

1st Aug 2019: Mediation report submitted to SC.

2nd Aug 2019: Mediation fails, SC orders for day-to-day hearing from 6th Aug.

6th Aug 2019: SC commences day-to-day hearing on the land dispute.

4th Oct 2019: “Hearing ends on Oct 17th, Judgement on Nov 17th” – Supreme court
