We can write about midfield only for 500 pages…

  • All these strategies are decided by the Manager, he is also the one who selects the playing 11 and who takes care of Training sessions.

In most of the clubs, Managers are responsible for all the trades of the players… I.e Which player to buy or which player to sell and all.

Now Let’s come to the Basic Rules of the Football:

  1. We can score a goal with any part of our body apart from our Hands…
  2. A Manager can make 3 substitutions per match.
  3. When a ball goes outside the football pitch/boundary...The opposite team player gets to throw in the ball.
  4. If the ball goes behind the Goal line by an attacking team then the Goalkeeper of the opponent team gets to kick the ball from goal kick position line…
If the ball goes outside the goal from the defender of the team then it will result in a corner.. Where the Opponent player team gets to kick the ball from the edge of the football field towards the goal and another attacker may head that ball into the goal… Generally, it’s considered a good chance to score a goal because of which defenders take tremendous care of not letting the ball go outside the pitch in their half…
  5. Toss: The captain winning the toss gets to chose their side of the pitch among the two halves and also gets to choose which teams kick off the match in the opening half.
  6. Offside Rule: The most controversial rule and most argues rule upon and also many times refs make a mistake (Similar to that of LBW rule in Cricket).
According to this rule, A goal is not counted if the Goal is scored by a player who is in an advanced position than a player of the opposite team who is closest to the goal line.
Even if a player of an attacking team gets the ball who is in a position ahead of player of the last team then the linesman (assistant of the ref) blows the whistle and stops the play and the ball is given to the opposite team.
This rule came into effect during the late 20th century this is exactly why it has become more and more difficult to score goals in modern football.
  7. Penalty: If an Attacking team player is brought down by a foul in the penalty box by the defending team or if the defending team touches the ball with the hand in the penalty box then a penalty is awarded to the attacking team.
If such fouls happen outside the penalty box then a free kick is given to the opposite team.
  8. If the match is a final or a knockout match and at the end of the 90 minutes of play the scores are leveled then there is an Additional Added extra time of 30 minutes which is divided into 2 halves of 15 minutes each…
Even after that, the score remains the same then the match outcome will be decided on penalty shootout…
In the penalty shootout, each team is given 5 penalty shootouts…Whichever team gets to send the ball into the net for most times get to win the match…
Even after 5 penalty shootouts if both teams have the same score then penalty shootout continues till certain teams miss them, then the opponent team is declared as the winner…
  9. Suspensions: Depending upon the severity of Fouls the players are given Yellow cards and Red Cards…
If a player gets a red card then he has to leave the field immediately and will be banned for 3 matches at least…
If a player gets 2 yellow cards in a single match then it will become a red card and player has to leave the field immediately and will be banned for subsequent 1 match…
For every 5 yellow cards, the player will be banned for a 1 match
