This recruitment is conducted through BARC Training Schools to appoint Scientific Officers (Group-A) in various DAE units across India. 🔹 Programmes Offered

1️⃣ OCES-2026

One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates & Science Postgraduates (2026–27)
After successful completion, candidates are appointed as Scientific Officers in DAE units.

2️⃣ DGFS-2026

Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme (2026–28)
Candidates pursue M.Tech at DGFS institutes with stipend & fee reimbursement and later join DAE as Scientific Officers.

🔹 Job Role & Posting

  • Post: Scientific Officer (Group-A, Government of India)

  • Posting Units: BARC, IGCAR, RRCAT, VECC, HWB, NFC, BRIT, NPCIL, BHAVINI, AMD, UCIL, DCSEM, AERB, etc.

  • Location: Across India (as per DAE requirements)

🔹 Eligibility Criteria

✔️ Educational Qualification

  • Engineering: B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech (minimum 60% marks)

  • Science: M.Sc / Integrated M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Biosciences, Geology, Geophysics (minimum 60% marks)

  • Only full-time regular degrees are accepted (no distance/part-time)

✔️ Experience

  • No prior experience required

  • Freshers are eligible

🎂 Age Limit (as on 01 August 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 18 years

  • Maximum Age:

    • General: 26 years

    • OBC (NCL): 29 years

    • SC / ST: 31 years

    • PwBD & other categories: As per Government rules

🔹 Stipend & Salary

During Training

  • Stipend: ₹74,000 per month

  • OCES Book Allowance: ₹30,000 (one-time)

  • DGFS: Tuition fee reimbursement + contingency grant

After Appointment

  • Pay Level: Level-10 (7th CPC)

  • Basic Pay: ₹56,100

  • Total Monthly Salary: ~₹1,35,000 (in Mumbai, including allowances)

🔹 Selection Process

  1. Screening through:

    • BARC Online Examination OR

    • GATE-2024 / 2025 / 2026 Score

  2. Personal Interview

  3. Medical Examination

🔹 Important Dates

  • Application Start: 22 December 2025 (tentative)

  • Last Date to Apply: 21 January 2026

  • Online Exam: 14 & 15 March 2026

  • Interviews: May – June 2026

  • Training Starts: 31 July 2026
