Interview Questions & Answers

1. Tell me about yourself.

Answer:
“I am a recent graduate with a background in Computer Science. I have a strong foundation in Java, JavaScript, OOP principles, and Data Structures. During my academic projects, I worked on coding assignments that helped me improve my problem-solving and logical thinking. I am eager to start my career as an Associate Salesforce Developer because I want to apply my skills in real projects and also learn Salesforce technology, which is growing fast in the industry.”

2. What do you know about Salesforce?

Answer:
“Salesforce is a cloud-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. It helps businesses manage their customers, sales, marketing, and services in one place. Companies use Salesforce to track leads, automate tasks, and provide better customer service. It is popular because it is customizable, scalable, and works on the cloud, which reduces the need for heavy infrastructure.”

3. Why do you want to work as an Associate Salesforce Developer at Huron?

Answer:
“I want to join Huron because it is a global consulting organization that focuses on innovation and transformation. This role is a great opportunity for me as a fresher to learn Salesforce while contributing to real-world projects. I like that Huron provides exposure to both technical learning and business processes, which will help me grow as a full-stack CRM developer in the future.”

4. What are OOPs concepts? Can you explain with examples?

Answer:
“OOPs stands for Object-Oriented Programming. It is a way of writing programs using objects and classes. The four main concepts are:

5. What is the difference between Java and Apex?

Answer:
“Java is a general-purpose programming language used for building applications on many platforms. Apex is Salesforce’s programming language that is strongly typed and object-oriented, just like Java. The main difference is that Apex is used only within the Salesforce platform for building custom logic, triggers, and applications. If someone knows Java, learning Apex becomes easier because the syntax and concepts are very similar.”

6. Can you explain a data structure you are comfortable with?

Answer:
“One data structure I am comfortable with is the Array. An array stores multiple elements of the same type in a continuous block of memory. For example, if I want to store marks of 5 students, I can use an array like int marks[5] = {90, 85, 70, 88, 92}. Arrays are useful because they provide fast access to elements using indexes, but their size is fixed. In cases where we need flexibility, we can use a Linked List instead.”

7. How would you explain JavaScript to a non-technical person?

Answer:
“JavaScript is a language that makes websites interactive. For example, when you click a button on a webpage and something happens immediately (like a pop-up or data refresh), it is JavaScript working in the background. It allows developers to make websites dynamic instead of just showing static information.”

8. How do you approach solving a coding problem?

Answer:
“When I get a coding problem, I first try to understand the requirements clearly and break it into smaller steps. Then I decide which data structures or algorithms are best suited for the problem. I write the code step by step and test it with sample inputs. If I face errors, I debug using print statements or check the logic carefully. After it works, I try to make the code cleaner and more efficient.”

9. Can you give an example of a project you worked on in Java or JavaScript?

Answer:
“In my final year, I worked on a library management system using Java. The project allowed users to borrow and return books. I used OOP principles to design classes for books, users, and transactions. This project helped me understand how to use inheritance, encapsulation, and collections in Java. I also learned about handling exceptions and writing reusable code.”

10. Where do you see yourself in 2–3 years?

Answer:
“In the next 2–3 years, I see myself as a skilled Salesforce Developer with strong technical and functional knowledge of CRM solutions. I want to gain expertise in Apex, Lightning components, and integrations with external systems. I also aim to contribute to bigger projects at Huron and grow into a role where I can guide new team members.”

Conclusion

The Associate Salesforce Developer role at Huron is a great opportunity for fresh graduates (2024/2025 pass-outs) to start a career in CRM development. To prepare, focus on Java, JavaScript, OOPs, and Data Structures, while also showing willingness to learn Salesforce basics.
