• Qualification : Bachelor’s degree or higher in ECE, IT, CS or MCA.
• 2021/2022/2023/2024 Batches can apply
• Java programming skills, Web technologies, knowledge and development experience, primarily on UNIX / Linux platform. software development experience in (Java, Groovy, JavaScript, extjs, Multithreading, JIRA) .
• Good to have – knowledge and skills on any RDBMS, preferably on SQL.
• Good solid understanding of packet networking. Development experience on this would be a definite plus.
• Basic familiarity with mobile telecommunication networks, their architecture and mechanisms would be an added advantage.

1. Tell me about yourself.

Answer:

I’m a Computer Science graduate with hands-on knowledge of Java and automation tools. I’ve worked on small projects involving scripting and automation tasks using Java and Linux. I enjoy solving real-world problems using code. I’ve also learned SQL basics and how networking works. I’m excited to join a company like Ericsson, where I can grow my skills and work on advanced telecom solutions.

2. What is automation in software engineering?

Answer:

Automation means making systems or processes work by themselves, without manual help. In software, we use code to run repeated tasks like testing, monitoring, or data processing. This saves time and avoids human errors. For example, writing a script to check server status every hour is automation.

3. What do you know about Java multithreading?

Answer:

Multithreading means running multiple tasks at the same time in one program. Java supports this with classes like Thread or using Runnable. It helps make programs faster and more responsive. For example, one thread can download a file while another updates the UI.

4. Have you used Linux/UNIX before? What commands do you know?

Answer:

Yes, I have used Linux in my training and projects. I know basic commands like:

• ls to list files

• cd to change directory

• chmod to change file permissions

• grep to search text

• crontab for scheduling jobs

I also wrote shell scripts to automate tasks like backup and file processing.

5. Explain your experience with SQL or databases.

Answer:

I’ve used SQL for small projects where I stored and retrieved user data. I know how to write basic queries like:

• SELECT to get data

• INSERT to add data

• UPDATE to change data

• DELETE to remove data

I understand how tables are related using primary and foreign keys.

6. What is packet networking?

Answer:

Packet networking is a way to send data in small pieces (packets) across a network. Each packet has a part of the data and the address of the destination. The system puts the packets together at the end. This method is used in the internet and mobile networks.

7. What tools or technologies have you used in automation?

Answer:

In my training and projects, I used:

• Java for writing automation scripts

• Shell scripts for Linux tasks

• JIRA for tracking tasks and bugs

• Git for version control
  I’m also learning tools like Selenium and Jenkins for test and build automation.

8. Why do you want to work at Ericsson?

Answer:

9. What would you do if your automation script fails during deployment?

Answer:

First, I would check the logs or error messages. Then, I’d try to isolate the problem by running parts of the script step by step. If needed, I’d use print/debug statements. After fixing the issue, I’d test the script again and document the error and solution to help in future deployments.

10. How do you keep your knowledge up to date?

Answer:

I regularly practice coding on platforms like HackerRank and LeetCode. I watch YouTube tutorials, read blogs on Medium, and follow tech news. I’m also part of online forums and LinkedIn groups where I learn from others’ experiences.
