About NDA & NA Examination

The NDA & NA examination is conducted twice a year by UPSC. Candidates selected through this exam undergo 3 years of training at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune, followed by 1 year of pre-commission training at respective service academies.

• Notification Release Date: 10 December 2025

• Last Date to Apply Online: 30 December 2025 (till 6:00 PM)

• Admit Card Release: Last week before the exam

• Written Examination Date: 12 April 2026

• Course Commencement: 1 January 2027

🧑‍✈️ Vacancies Details (Tentative)

Vacancies are provisional and may change based on training capacity.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

🔹 Nationality

Candidate must be:

• A citizen of India, or

• A subject of Nepal, or

• A person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries (with eligibility certificate)

🔹 Age Limit & Marital Status

• Unmarried male & female candidates only

• Born between 01 July 2007 and 01 July 2010

🔹 Educational Qualification

• Army Wing (NDA):
  ✔️ 12th class pass (any stream)

• Navy & Air Force Wings (NDA) and Naval Academy:
  ✔️ 12th class pass with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM)

👉 Candidates appearing in 12th class are also eligible.

🏫 3 Years Training at NDA

Candidates selected through NDA Examination will undergo 3 years of training at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune.

This training includes:

• Military training

• Academic education

• Physical fitness & leadership development

🎓 Bachelor’s Degree During Training

Along with 3 years of NDA training, candidates are also awarded a Bachelor’s Degree.

• The degree is awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi

⚠️ Important Clarification:

This Bachelor’s degree is provided during NDA training.
👉 Graduation is NOT required before applying for NDA.

📝 Application Fee

• ₹100 – General / OBC candidates

• No Fee for:

  • SC / ST candidates

  • Female candidates

  • Wards of JCOs / NCOs / ORs (as specified)

   • Mathematics – 300 Marks

   • General Ability Test (GAT) – 600 Marks

2. SSB Interview

   • Psychological Tests

   • Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks

   • Personal Interview & Conference

3. Medical Examination

4. Final Merit List

Total Marks: 1800 (Written + SSB)
