Sales

Qualification: Any Bachelor’s degree
Will be based in important towns in various parts of India.
The role consists of managing Dealers, Modern Retail and Canteen Stores Department.
This role requires intensive travel and a good knowledge of the local language.
Also involves supervising and managing merchandisers and redistribution salesmen.
The achievement of sales target comes with monthly incentives which may add up to a further 5 lakhs per annum.
May have an opportunity to attend foreign conferences based upon experience and performance.
The next higher role is that of a Regional Sales Manager where the person is responsible for looking after a State or a group of States.
Work Location: Various towns in India.

Marketing

Qualification: Any Bachelor’s degree
The Marketing role may involve Market Research, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, Online Sales, Creating videos, Development of Showrooms, Development of Merchandising and Establishment of Displays, Managing D2C Sales, Brand and Product management, Packaging and Communication Design, Website and other communication, Advertising on Online Platforms, Managing Content, Consumer Service.
In order to understand the Hawkins market, the candidates found suitable will have to work in Sales for a short duration ranging from six months to one year. Thereafter they will be exposed to all aspects of advertising and marketing.
New product development in close contact with R & D will be part of the role.

E – Commerce

Qualification: Any Bachelor’s degree
Hawkins is one of the biggest suppliers in its field on various E-commerce and quick commerce channels.
The role entails keeping a close watch on proper descriptions and content of our products, dealing with the E-commerce organisations, processing their orders and dealing with customer returns.
The role of E-commerce Trainee will involve assisting in managing our E-commerce platforms, developing product content, and improving customer experience.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in E-commerce, digital marketing, D2C operations and advertising on E-commerce platform in India, USA and UK.
This will involve sites like Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy and other such platforms.

Journalism

Qualification: We are looking for young talented journalism freshers or trained journalist having experience and a flair of writing to create engaging content and communicate our company’s news, achievements, struggles and stories to various audiences, mainly internal.
The successful candidate will develop and implement internal and external communications strategies, enhancing our brand reputation.
Will also be responsible for writing and editing news stories for internal and external distribution. Create content for company social media platforms.
The role would entail travelling to various parts of the country to understand the consumer, the dealer and vendor and any other person whose life is touched by Hawkins.
The reporting should include insights and trends which may be largely qualitative in nature.

Content Creation

Qualification: Candidates having appropriate qualifications or experience are required to mainly create compelling video content using good writing and editing skills. Also, textual content, social media content, blog posts and will need to actively engage with consumers on social media.
Strong research skills and good understanding of SEO and a good understanding of young consumers are needed.
There are two areas of content creation that we are looking for – pictures and videos.
We are looking for trained photographers with a creative bent of mind who are able to compose and create product pictures including product usage pictures.
Video content creators will be required to create video content concerning product benefits, product usage, do’s and don’ts, interview customers and market research, and should be able to edit and produce films for YouTube, Instagram, etc.
In both these roles, formal training in photography and video content creation will be useful. Persons who are passionate about these without formal training may also apply. In all cases the selection process will involve a practical test.

Hotel Management Graduates

Hawkins runs a Test Kitchen at its Marketing Office situated in Mahim West, Mumbai.
The Test Kitchen is central to initiatives in new product development, product improvement and dealing with consumers’ cooking questions.
It conducts extensive cooking trials, publishes reports and writes precise recipes with clear instructions.
The Test Kitchen trains company personnel in the right way to cook using Hawkins products.
It also conducts cooking demonstrations at dealer conferences in India and in cities like New York, Paris, Geneva and Dubai.
The Test Kitchen tries out new products from the consumers’ point of view and guides the Research and Development centre at Thane on product design.
The Test Kitchen is involved in marketing activities like development of product packaging. A new initiative involves shooting recipe videos.
We are looking for management trainees for the Test Kitchen who enjoy trying out Indian and International, vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes, are able to make careful observations, write out recipes and are meticulous and diligent.
They should have an inquisitive, creative mind and also be happy to work with their own hands.
A good exposure to culinary training or an aptitude and love for cooking will be needed. The role entails creating recipes for different products like Pressure Cookers, Cookware, Rice Cookers and other electrical cooking devices.
It will also involve comparative testing of products and a scientific assessment of cooking results.
The ability to write proper instructions and/or create videos to share a recipe will be useful.

Data Analytics

With more than ten crore customers and 10,000 dealers, about one lakh orders per year, we produce a lot of data. We want to use this data to better understand our consumers, our dealers, our quality problems, our opportunities, and our risks. We want the insights from data to give us managerial inputs into problems and opportunities.

Qualification: Academic background of data analytics and hands on experience of use of data would be useful.
Persons with a mathematics and statistics background, those who are able to work with various data management software, and those who are good at interpreting data may apply irrespective of their graduation background
The role would involve deciding what data needs to be picked up, gathering of data and improving the quality of data. Market research on consumer behaviour is also in the ambit of this role.
The research can be initiated at any department of the organisation – Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, HR, Accounts.
A good understanding of statistics and current data management software is essential.
A basic common sense approach where causation and correlation are not confused will be useful.
The person must be numerate, must be able to understand and explain variations and trends and have an all-round understanding of different parts of the business.
An exposure to statistics as well as a good understanding of spreadsheets is needed.
Data Analytics will deal with arriving at business insights based upon sales and offtake data, production and accounting data, and macro-economic data.
The role involves looking at data to identify opportunities, point out mistakes and pick out trends in consumer behavior which may be relevant to the Company.

Information Technology

Qualification: Good practical knowledge of one or more of the following needed – C++, C#, SQL, Java, DART, ASP.Net, HTML/CSS, XML, Python, Android, Flutter, React Native, Tableau and Power BI.
Apply only if you like coding, solving real life problems. Ability to use machine learning and artificial intelligence to solve regular business problems will be useful.
The role involves designing reports, designing and implementing automation, and assisting all types of business departments with the needed IT.
Data Science & Analytics applied to real consumer and customer data and GIS mapping are also skills we are looking for.
In Hawkins the IT Department mostly does not use third party software for ERP, CRM and you can get extensive exposure in developing systems yourself and close interaction with user so that you can see the results of your efforts.
Will be exposed to writing Apps and API in both the Android and Apple environment.
Also, good exposure to D2C and E-commerce and creating and maintaining websites.

Accounts

Qualification: We are looking for accounting professionals who must be at least commerce graduates.
A good understanding of basic accounting principles, an ability to deal with numbers, a disciplined and careful approach to accounting will be useful.
A good knowledge of spreadsheets will be useful.
The role will include Finance, Direct and Indirect Taxation, Audit and Reconciliation, Management Accounting, setting up all Accounting Control Systems, Budgeting, Production Accounting.
Hawkins runs its own Accounting IT systems. A challenging and exciting part of this role will be that you can design your own reports, ratios and systems and are not limited to running an existing legacy software.
A good understanding of Accounting standards and the ability to deal with internal and external auditors is required. Cost Accountants and Chartered Accountants may start appropriately higher, based upon their performance in the written test and interview.

Legal

Qualification: A good understanding of Labour Law – as we run three factories with unions – will be useful.
Company Secretary qualified persons may also apply.
An opportunity to deal with wide ranging facets of law and compliance including Labour law, Company law, Tax laws, Factories Act, Commercial law, Packaged commodities, domestic contracts, international contracts, dealing with Government regulations are all part of this role
Advise the Company on legal matters, monitor and ensure legal compliances, brief counsel and organise action to avoid or support litigation as needed. Action to protect the intellectual property of the Company such as Trade Marks, Copy Rights, Designs and Patents are important.
There are also occasions where action needs to be taken against spurious parts and products.
An opportunity to deal with wide ranging facets of law and compliance including Labour law, Company law, Tax laws, Factories Act, Commercial law, Packaged commodities, domestic contracts, international contracts, dealing with Government regulations are all part of this role.

Internal Consulting

Qualification: We are looking for a good ability for data analysis, ability to get market insights, understanding optimisation problems and the ability to read and write reports dealing with complex projects.
The Internal Consultant will need to identify areas of opportunity and areas of inefficiency in the organisation and will take up projects to improve those areas.
They will be involved in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, process improvements, and operational enhancements across various departments and will focus on those projects that are inter departmental in nature.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in problem analysis and problem solving and execution of solutions, which is not found in an external consulting role.

Product Design

Qualification: We are looking for graduates and post graduates in product design who have either formal knowledge in industrial product design or are deeply interested in cooking and kitchen equipment and are able to contribute to new product design aspects
A flair for writing would be useful.
An integrated part of the product design responsibility is to assist R&D and manufacturing team to productionise the product, generate mock ups, make rapid prototypes and create and test working models.
The design function in Hawkins is very hands-on and the product designer should not only be able to design aesthetic products but also find elegant functional solutions.
As we are a manufacturing Company, the person will get a good understanding of productionising the designs as to which will work and which will not.
The product designers are also required to modify existing designs to solve manufacturing problems, quality problems and update surface finishes, etc., all the while keeping the convenience of the ultimate consumer in mind.
Product Design role will involve designing and manufacture of cookware, electrical appliances, embedded systems design, electronic controls and sensors, productionising, metal forming and finishing and extensive testing of products.

Tool Making & Design

Qualification: Diploma holders, Graduates and post Graduates in Tool Design and Manufacture are required.
The role involves understanding the requirement of the Tools and Dies required by the manufacturing team and ensure timely availability of the Tools and Dies to meet the production targets.
Closely interact with the R&D team and assist the team in preparing tools and dies required for productionising the new products to be introduced in the market.
Also will involve working in projects to improve quality, increase output and reduce costs by improving tool and fixture design.
There are two aspects of this role, one is designing tools for various draw, deep draw, injection moulding type of operations, the other aspect is getting tools manufactured for different types of applications.
The substantial part of the work beyond tool design and manufacture would be in process improvement and designing jigs and fixtures, new product manufacturing, etc

Sourcing & Supply Chain

Qualification: A good understanding of the area – or an ability to quickly learn about an area like, say, glassware or casting or injection moulding will be useful.
We are looking for Supply Chain Trainees to join our procurement team. The procurement team supports the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives and supply chain optimisation projects.
The Supply Chain is spread out in India and other parts of the world and involves make or buy decisions.
You will assist in managing the procurement process, supplier relationships, and supply chain optimisation.
Hawkins works closely with suppliers to improve their quality, increase the quantity and in reducing costs.
The team will be responsible for importing and working on active import substitution and projects to improve quality and reduce costs.

Manufacturing & Quality Control

Qualification: Diploma holders, Engineering Graduates and Postgraduates needed in Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering and Machine Design, Industrial Engineering, Material Science or Robotics
Hawkins makes its products in India in its three factories and other component suppliers. Role in manufacturing will involve running a press shop, machine shop, or anodising shop, or assembly shops, leading teams of workers to produce high quality products. They may also involve commissioning of new machines and import of new technology.
Roles in Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance will involve preventive maintenance of machines and electrical installations.
In Quality Control the role will involve quality improvement, problem solving, setting of quality standards, testing and quality control.
Various projects will involve knowledge of statistical quality control techniques, root cause analysis, quality circles, quality and process documentation, testing-destructive and non-destructive, quality improvement initiatives.
Exposure to certification from ISI, UL, CE, will train the person in managing these aspects.
The Quality team also deals with a regular quality comparison with products made by various plants and competition and is a key success factor of Hawkins.

Stores & Despatch

The role involves managing the factory Stores and Finished Goods godowns. The role in Stores / Despatch will involve:

Check and receive incoming material for quality and quantity as per the invoices, purchase orders. Accounting the finished goods received from the manufacturing and stacking as per the prescribed norms.
Timely issue material as per the requisitions of the manufacturing departments and ensure that the finished goods are despatched to the destinations as per the despatch plan and schedule given by the Corporate Distribution team.
Maintain stocks as per the Company’s inventory policy.
Review physical quantities periodically and advise required actions such for procurement of short items / disposal of obsolete material suitably, maintain stocks of the finished goods, periodical stack taking and reconciliation with finished goods received from Manufacturing and despatched as per the plans received.
Responsible for upkeep of the in-house and outhouse Stores, Godowns and Ware House.
Maintain stock and consumption records.
Study material consumption as per norms and highlight inconsistencies in material consumption.
Timely dispose scrap at best possible price.
Timely general inventory valuation as per the requirements of Accounts.

Qualification : Bright, computer-literate graduates in any discipline, either freshers or with few years of relevant experience, are needed to work with Senior Managers, providing all-round help in various matters.
