Interview Questions and Answers for QA Salesforce Intern – Graduate Trainee

1. Tell me about yourself.

Answer:
My name is [Your Name], and I am currently in my final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. I have a strong interest in software testing and automation. I recently learned about Salesforce and started exploring its features. I also have basic knowledge of Java and Python. I enjoy working in teams and solving problems, and I’m excited to begin my career in Quality Assurance, especially in a reputed company like yours.

2. What do you know about Salesforce?

Answer:
Salesforce is a cloud-based platform mainly used for customer relationship management (CRM). Companies use it to manage their sales, customer service, marketing, and more. It allows businesses to store customer information, track sales activities, and automate workflows. It’s flexible, customizable, and helps improve business performance.

3. What is software testing, and why is it important?

Answer:
Software testing is the process of checking a software application to make sure it works as expected. It helps find bugs or issues before the software is used by customers. Testing is important because it ensures the product is high quality, safe, and performs well. It also saves time and money by catching problems early.

4. What is the difference between manual testing and automated testing?

Answer:
Manual testing means testing the application by hand, step by step, to see if everything works correctly. It’s useful for simple tasks and for checking the user interface.

Automated testing uses tools and scripts to test the application. It’s faster and better for repeated tests. Once the script is written, it can run anytime without human effort.

5. What are test cases and test plans?

Answer:
A test case is a step-by-step instruction that tells you how to test something. It includes what to test, how to test it, what input to give, and what result to expect.

A test plan is a document that describes the overall testing strategy. It explains what will be tested, who will do it, how long it will take, what tools will be used, and the goals of testing.

6. How do you find and report bugs?

Answer:
When I find a bug, I first try to repeat it to confirm it’s a real issue. Then, I note down the steps that caused the bug, what I expected, and what actually happened. I also take screenshots if needed. I report the bug in a bug-tracking tool and assign it to the developer so they can fix it.

7. What do you understand by regression testing?

Answer:
Regression testing is done to make sure that new changes in the code do not break the old features. For example, if a developer fixes a bug or adds a new feature, we test the whole app again to check that everything still works as before.

8. What tools have you used for testing?

Answer:
I have basic knowledge of tools like Selenium for automation testing and JUnit for unit testing. I have also explored bug-tracking tools like JIRA. I’m still learning and eager to work with more tools used in the industry.

9. How do you stay updated with new features in Salesforce?

Answer:
I follow official Salesforce blogs and Trailhead, which is Salesforce’s free learning platform. It has great hands-on exercises and learning paths. I also watch YouTube tutorials and follow LinkedIn pages related to Salesforce.

10. Why should we hire you for this internship?

Answer:
I’m hardworking, a quick learner, and genuinely interested in Quality Assurance and Salesforce. I may not have industry experience yet, but I have the right attitude, willingness to learn, and basic knowledge to get started. I am confident that with training and guidance, I can contribute to your team effectively.
