Objective
The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) has launched an Internship Programme inspired by the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister — “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, Sabka Vishwaas, Sabka Prayaas” — to build a self-reliant India. The programme aims to engage women students, scholars, teachers, and social activists in meaningful projects that contribute to the empowerment of women and children across the nation.
About the Internship Programme
This initiative offers women candidates an opportunity to:

Undertake pilot projects and micro-studies on ongoing Ministry activities.

Gain qualitative exposure to MWCD’s policies and programmes.

Contribute to policy discussions and implementation through empirical analysis, reporting, and research.

Interact with government officials, stakeholders, and other ministries to understand grassroots challenges in women and child welfare.
Schedule & Duration
The internship programme will run in four distinct terms during the financial year. Each term has a duration of two months:

Eligibility Criteria

Who can apply?
Women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers enrolled in or associated with any university/academic/non-academic institution. -
Age Limit: 21 – 40 years
-
Location Restriction:
Applicants from non-Tier-I cities and rural areas of India are eligible.
(Tier-I cities include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune.)
Selection Process

Selection will be carried out by a Committee constituted by the Ministry.

Subject experts and faculty from reputed universities/research institutions may also be invited to assist in the process.

Number of Interns: Up to 20 interns per batch.
Activities During Internship
Interns will:
-
Work on pilot projects and micro-studies related to women and child development.
-
Contribute to policy analysis, reporting, and drafting papers.
-
Support in improving implementation efficiency of MWCD schemes.
-
Interact with officials, ministries, and stakeholders in the field of women and child welfare.
Incentives & Support
Selected interns will receive:

Stipend: ₹20,000 per month
-
Travel Reimbursement: For joining and returning (Deluxe/AC Bus/3-Tier AC Train)

Tour Reimbursement: Travel cost + DA as per Government of India rules
-
Accommodation: Hostel facility (triple sharing with basic amenities; mess charges excluded) in Delhi
-
Logistics Support: Seating arrangement, internet, and stationery
-
Certificate: On successful completion (submission/presentation of project reports required)

Internship Coordinator: To support interns and guide them during the programme
Application Process
Application Timeline:

Applications open two months before the start of each term.

Submission window: 1st to 10th of the respective month
-
Example: Apply between 1st – 10th March for the May–June term.

Note: Once selected, candidates cannot apply for subsequent terms.
