1. Tell me about yourself.

Answer:
I am a recent graduate with an interest in both business analysis and software testing. I have good communication and analytical skills. During my college projects, I worked on gathering requirements, writing test cases, and understanding how software should work. I also practiced automation testing using Selenium with Java and basic SQL queries. I enjoy understanding business problems and testing solutions, so I want to start my career in a role that combines both QA and business analysis.

2. What do you understand by Business Analysis?

Answer:
Business Analysis is the process of understanding a business problem and finding solutions to fix it. A Business Analyst talks to stakeholders like clients or managers, gathers their requirements, and writes them down clearly. These requirements help the development and testing teams to build the right product. Business Analysts act like a bridge between the business team and the technical team.

3. What is Quality Assurance (QA)?

Answer:
Quality Assurance is making sure that a software product works correctly and meets the user’s expectations. QA involves planning, checking, and testing the software to find and fix bugs. It helps deliver a good-quality product to customers. QA can be done manually or using automation tools like Selenium.

4. What is the difference between a Business Analyst and a QA?

Answer:
A Business Analyst focuses on understanding what the business needs and writing clear requirements. A QA focuses on testing the software to make sure it meets those requirements. The Business Analyst works in the planning stage, while the QA works more in the development and testing stages. Both work together to make sure the final product is useful and bug-free.

5. How do you write a good test case?

Answer:
A good test case should be simple, clear, and cover one specific scenario. It should include:

Test cases should be easy to understand so that anyone in the team can follow and test the software.

6. What is Selenium, and how did you use it?

Answer:
Selenium is a free tool used for automating web applications. I used Selenium with Java to write scripts that automatically test whether the website is working as expected. For example, I created scripts to test login pages and form submissions. It saves time by doing repeated testing faster than manual testing.

7. Can you write a simple SQL query to fetch data?

Answer:
Yes. For example, if I want to get all the details of students from a table called “Students”, I will write:

SELECT * FROM Students;

If I want only the names of students from the “Students” table, I will write:

sql
SELECT name FROM Students;

SQL helps in checking whether the data in the database is correct or not during testing.

8. How do you gather requirements from stakeholders?

Answer:
I start by talking to the stakeholders like clients, users, or managers. I ask them questions to understand their needs. I listen carefully and take notes. I may also arrange meetings or interviews to get detailed information. After that, I write the requirements clearly and send them for approval. These requirements help the development and QA teams.

9. What is User Acceptance Testing (UAT)?

Answer:
User Acceptance Testing is the final stage of testing where real users or business people test the software to make sure it meets their needs. It helps confirm that the product is ready to go live. I can support UAT by preparing test cases, helping users test the features, and noting down any issues they find.
