About the Role:
- We are seeking a data-driven, detail-oriented BI/Analytics Analyst to join our team in the auto insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have experience transforming complex data into actionable insights to support business decisions across underwriting, claims, pricing, customer experience, and fraud detection. This role is crucial in driving data-informed strategies and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze auto insurance data including claims, policy, pricing, and customer data to identify trends and business opportunities.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Partner with actuarial, underwriting, product, and IT teams to understand data needs and deliver analytics solutions.
- Support predictive modeling efforts around customer segmentation, claims frequency/severity, and fraud detection.
- Design and optimize SQL queries to extract and process large datasets.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to answer business questions and support strategic initiatives.
- Monitor and ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across systems.
- Present findings and actionable recommendations to stakeholders at various levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience in the auto insurance domain (claims, underwriting, pricing, or telematics) is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as Python, R, or SAS is a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate business questions into data-driven solutions and insights.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts or working with data science teams.
- Exposure to regulatory reporting or compliance data analytics in insurance.
