- People might have a question, how can I talk about all the countries mentioned below ??
- I completed my Masters in Australia and I worked in Newzealand and the USA.
- So, hopefully, I am having much knowledge of overseas studies and settlement as I met Indians living in all places.
In this article, I will be discussing some countries which I found much flow of Indians they are USA, AUSTRALIA, NEWZEALAND, UK, CANADA, GERMANY, IRELAND, FINLAND, ITALY.
Let us discuss one by one…
The USA
- The USA became an option of studies and settlement for one out of 5 students in India, especially in South India.
- This was the situation a few years back.
- But, after 2016 the situation has become worse.
- No doubt that the USA is a better option for studies as it has all the high rated Universities in the world. The cost of the study is also better in the USA.
- Jobs can be easily grabbed with vulnerable effort as there are many software companies in the USA.
- The only concern here is getting Green cards and Citizenship.
- It is getting much difficult in the USA.
- Getting a USA student visa is also becoming expensive & difficult these days.
- But, good academic percentage and good GRE score can take you to better universities and better universities could easily fetch your student visa.
- So, aim for a GRE score above 300 – 330.
- And you can find at least one Indian in a street in the USA.
- After a few days, you feel it like Hyderabad.
- Expected time to get part-time 1-2 months.
Canada
- Canada is a good place to study and its the same USA.
- But the good thing here is Canada offers a good number of Visas to Indians as the government of Canada is a good friend of India.
- The cost of the study is less than in the USA.
- People who could not get a USA visa and want to choose between other countries can choose CANADA & AUSTRALIA as a better option as of now.
- We need an IELTS score of 6 to get admission in some decent universities.
- Getting a job in Canada is not so easy as the USA but, however, you can get one after some efforts.
- Part-time is available here.
- Expected time to get part-time 1-2 months.
AUSTRALIA
- The trend these days shifted from the USA to AUSTRALIA as the Australian government is offering a good number of Visas to Indians.
- It was very easy to get an Australian visa 2-3 years back but now it became a little difficult to get a visa these days.
- The reason is the Indian student population is growing rapidly. Getting PR in Australia was easy a few years back but now the PR points have been increased to 95.
- Regarding jobs, Australia is not a pro software country like the USA, it is a business based company.
- The salary for any permanent job is around $28 – $35 AUD/hr.
- So, if you choose Australia gets ready to do any professional job irrespective of your education.
- If you want a seat in Australia in a decent university get a PTE score of 65+.
- Expected time to get part-time 15 days to 1 month.
NEWZEALAND
- New Zealand has recorded a 400% increase in the number of Indians.
- The institutes and universities in the country are ranked among the top 500 on the planet.
- Settlement, climate, studies, Permanent Residence everything is the same as in Australia.
- Expected time to get part-time 1-2 months.
The UK
- The United Kingdom is now attracting many international students by giving a post-study work visa of 2 years which was not there before.
- The number of visa offerings has been increasing for every academic year.
- You can earn in pounds.
- Jobs can be earned through consultancies but, with some efforts.
- The UK is a software and business hub.
- The requirements for getting a UK visa are IELTS, a good bachelor’s academics.
- Expected time to get part-time 1-1 and a half month.
- Now we will discuss the countries which are preferred after the above-mentioned countries.
- So, here I will be discussing the eligibility for getting student visas of those countries.
FINLAND
- IELTS (Academic): overall 6.5 (minimum 5.5 in writing)
- PTE (Academic): minimum 59
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university degree in an appropriate field international students have a right to work without restrictions if the work is related to their studies.
- Students can also work other jobs but only for 25 hours per week (part-time) on average during the academic year and work full time with no restrictions during holidays.
- In order to apply for a continuous residence permit (A-permit) your residence has to change the type from temporary to continuous.
- In order to get a permanent residence permit, you have to live in the country with a continuous permit without interruption for four years.
GERMANY
- Here the courses are chosen prior to Universities.
- Maximum of German Universities are run by the government, so they are tuition-free (again to the maximum extent) and are hence contain an excellent faculty.
- He language of instruction at most universities in Germany is German.
- All students undertaking a German-taught program will need to be able to demonstrate a firm knowledge of the language, either by means of a language test result or by taking a preparatory course.
- Accepted proficiency tests are the DSH (German Language University Entrance Examination for International Applicants), TestDaF (Test of German as a Foreign Language), GDS (Goethe Institut German Language Diploma) and the DSD (German Language Diploma of the Standing Conference of the Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs, Level II).
- If you are only studying in Germany for one or two semesters you may not need to provide this evidence.
- The curriculum of your previous study Internships and Work Experience.
ITALY
- When applying to study a bachelor, master or Ph.D. in an Italian university, there are several entry requirements.
- Identity document.
- Academic transcript of your previous studies.
- University application form.
- Letter of recommendation.
- Personal Statement.
- Language proficiency (English or Italian, depending on the program) – IELTS is fine.
- The non-EU students will require an international student work permit for working while studying, and the allowed working hours are 20 hours.
- You can change the reason for your stay and stay in Italy for a longer period.
- To grow your carrier in Italy by changing student visa into a work visa one must have earned qualifying education in Italy.
IRELAND
DOCUMENTS you will need :
- A valid passport.
- The Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160.
- The application fee payment receipt.
- A passport photo.
- A Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status (Form 1-20).
- Should have the evidence for English language proficiency tests like TOEFL or IELTS test scores.
- “Internationalization Register” is a recognized student program in Ireland; this is a program where international students can work part-time while studying.
- This can be acquired by receiving a ‘stamp number 2’ from a local immigration officer, this stamp will allow you to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during working days and 40 hours per week during the holiday time.
- To get Permanent Residence in Ireland, you must first hold a temporary residence permit for 5 years.
- You must also prove that you earn enough money to be self-sufficiency.
- You can also qualify for Citizenship after 5 years but you will need to physically be present in Ireland for at least 1,825 or 1,826 days over the last 9 years.
- You need to gain temporary residence in Ireland first.
- If you are able to find employment in Ireland, you will be able to apply for a residence permit.
- Otherwise, the easiest if you are a business person is to either apply as an entrepreneur as an investor.

- The best suggestion I could give plays a safe game where the permanent visas are good. If you have enough money try for a business and get the visa and then stay happily.
- Choose long term goals. Don’t believe that you can earn much through part-time and can pay off your loans. It is bull shit.
- Study take your time and then earn. BC, SC, ST students are given 10 lakhs for overseas studies so you can grab that.
